RentCockpit Privacy Policy

RentCockpit is a Windows desktop application. The information managed in RentCockpit is primarily stored locally on the user's own computer.

1. Data Controller

RentCockpit is provided by VeDaVaR BV. For privacy-related questions, please contact danny@vedavar.com.

2. Information Processed by RentCockpit

Depending on how the application is used, RentCockpit may process:

• names, telephone numbers, email addresses and postal addresses;
• information about tenants, contractors, buildings and lease agreements;
• financial and administrative information;
• local settings and technical error information.

3. Local Storage

The RentCockpit database is stored locally on the user's computer. VeDaVaR BV does not automatically have access to this local information. The user is responsible for securing the computer and maintaining backups.

4. Google Contacts

Connecting Google Contacts is optional. RentCockpit uses Google OAuth 2.0. Users sign in directly with Google and grant permission through Google's consent screen. Google passwords are never provided to RentCockpit.

RentCockpit uses Google Contacts access only to:

• read Google contacts and compare them with RentCockpit contacts;
• identify possible duplicate contacts;
• create or link contacts after the user has made an explicit choice;
• update previously linked contacts during synchronization;
• add contacts to RentCockpit contact groups or labels.

5. Google Data Stored Locally

RentCockpit may store the following Google-related information locally:

• the ID and email address of the connected Google Account;
• encrypted OAuth access and refresh tokens;
• the link between a RentCockpit contact and a Google contact;
• technical information such as resourceName, etag and synchronization status.

RentCockpit does not store a complete permanent copy of the user's Google address book on a VeDaVaR BV server.

6. Security

OAuth tokens are encrypted and stored locally using Electron secure storage and the Windows user profile. Tokens are not exposed to the user interface and are not used for unrelated purposes.

7. Sharing and Selling of Data

VeDaVaR BV does not sell Google user data and does not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Google Contacts data is used only for the RentCockpit functions described in this policy.

8. Google API Services User Data Policy

RentCockpit's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

9. Revoking Access and Deleting Data

Users can disconnect their Google Account at any time through Settings > Google Contacts > Disconnect. Permission can also be revoked through the security settings of the user's Google Account.

Disconnecting removes the locally stored Google authorization. Contacts previously created in Google are not deleted automatically.
